Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Zeus is a Shar Pei/Shepherd Mix. He is Golden/Tan and White. Zeus is around 2 years old. He is neutered and up to date on his shots. He weighs around 59 lbs.
Zeus is a big ol' boy with the cutest face around! Zeus was orginally adopted to a family but then was returned when he never really wanted to make nice with the cats. Zeus also loved their children in his home but always felt the need to protect them from strangers coming into the house. He came to us about 10-15 pounds underweight. He just went through the motions and now he has gained some weight and loves life! His favorite thing to do is lay by your feet in any room that your in. He sprawls out on the floor and goes right to sleep no matter where it is. He'll get up when you do and then wonder what your going to do next. He loves to spend time outdoors playing with you. He LOVES playing fetch with a tennis ball! He'll go continue to catch it and bring it back to you as long as you want to play! He also knows basic commands like "Sit" "Stay" "Give Paw" and "Lay Down" After he's done he'll walk up the stairs and go right into the house, sniff around to make sure everything's secure and then take his position back laying right beside your feet. He won't go on the furniture unless asked up. He loves to go for walks and just be wherever you are.
Zeus would do well in a household without small children or cats. Zeus loves women especially, he feels very comfortable around them. He will get used to a man in the house but must be allowed the time to adjust to living with one. He does like children that are older. Any child from 7 and up he hasn't had a problem with, but with Zeus' background we believe when small kids move fast he thinks they might strike him so he puts up a defense. He loves female dogs especially, he likes to play in the yard and lay on the floor inside next to them. He does fine with male dogs as long as he can be the alpha. Zeus is a beautiful boy who has a hard life so far but he's come around so much and is slowly learning not all people are bad. But he would make a perfect dog for a single woman or women who live alone who would want a big dog to keep her company and make her feel safe.
Zeus is not aggressive with other dogs, he has been with small, large, young and old dogs.
At the rescue we require dogs to be kept indoors. There is a $95 adoption fee for puppies, and a $85 adoption fee for Adult/Senior Dogs.
