My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

INITIAL Bio 12/15/08: Puppy is an adorable 8 years young, 14lb boy with a gorgeous honey-colored coat…so unusual in a Yorkie! Puppy and Tiger (see below) were surrendered to a NY Shelter when their owners moved to an assisted living home that would not allow pets. They were raised together so they are a bonded pair and MUST be adopted together. They had not received grooming in a long time since their coats were so matted and overgrown that you could not even see their eyes! Puppy seems house broken since he has not had any accidents in the house and knows that outside is where he does his “business”.

PLEASE NOTE: We have not yet determined Puppy’s temperament around children or cats; however, we will continue to observe his behavior over time as he is exposed to them. Until then, he can only be adopted to an adult home.

UPDATED Bio 12/21/08: Puppy went to the vet for his initial check-up and overall, he’s a healthy little boy. Unfortunately, he was surrendered without any medical records so he had to get all his initial shots again but now he is up to date on his vaccinations. His dental check-up revealed moderate tartar build-up so he will be going back to the vet for a good cleaning. Initial tests also revealed a mild yeast infection in his ears, however, he is being treated for it now with ear drops.

Puppy seems extremely well-adjusted and shows no signs of fear or shyness. He is definitely more rambunctious than his brother, Tiger (see above) and loves to constantly play. He likes being around other adults and loves to go on long walks and enjoys the outdoors. He would be thrilled to go to a home with a safe, fenced-in yard or better yet, a Mom and Dad who will take him for daily walks. He would be happiest living in a home with a stay or work-at-home Mom or Dad since he is used to having people around. Like his brother, he is also a big cuddler so his forever home must be willing to give him lots of love and kisses and in return, you will receive unconditional love from this adorable pair!

We have not yet determined Puppy’s temperament around children or cats; however, we will continue to observe his behavior over time as he is exposed to them.
