ALL YOU Whippet Lovers, AbbyLeigh is your girl!
– I’m AbbyLeigh with the adorable underbite. And I am the perfect pup for a lady who would love to have a sweet, shy little companion. I didn’t have the easiest time of it before arriving at You Lucky Dog Rescue and so it takes me a little while to warm up to people I don’t know. But, once I do, I’m all about getting lots of attention and, in return, I will shower you with infinite kisses.
No one is quite sure what blend of puppy dog I am – I think I must have some whippet/greyhound in me and maybe a little Chihuahua. I weigh about 27 pounds – that’s what I call the perfectly sized pup. I have doe-like eyes, a white face and coloring that makes me look like a cheetah. (That fits because I can run like the wind) Whatever I am, everyone tells me I’m very pretty.
My perfect forever home will need to understand that, although I have been in a loving home for several months, I’m still a bit skittish, given the hard time I’ve had most of my life. I’ve come a long way in my foster home, but I’m going to need a dog-savvy person (preferably female) who understands that I need my space and that I will warm up to you on my own terms. Once I do, though, I am very sweet and I love to give kisses.
I am crate trained, and actually like spending quiet time in my crate, and potty-trained. I know sit and stay and I come when I’m called. And I’m great on a leash – I walk calmly with no pulling and listen/respond to all the my Mom tells me.
So, to sum “me” up – I’m an incredibly sweet, affectionate pup who wants to trust and, once I do, will become your BFF. If you will just give me some time and space, I promise I will love you and shower you with kisses and be your most loyal companion.
AbbyLeigh has an estimated DOB of July 2015, and is believe to be a Whippet mix. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped.

Our adoption fee is $300 and includes all age appropriate vaccines, spay or neuter and microchipping. The breed and age included in this listing is based upon the opinion of a vet that has examined the dog. We cannot confirm the age of the dog unless the dog was born in the care of the rescue. We are located in the metro Atlanta area. We currently do not allow out of state adoptions as a home check is required as part of the adoption process.
