My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

female- spaniel cross- 2 yrs Here's our Atlin and she's looking for her forever home in Vancouver; currently being fostered on Bowen Island. She's 1.5 years old, 30 pounds, smart and playful. She is a trooper despite her hip dysplia and arthritis which will require life long pain management.

She wants a quiet home with no children and where she is the only dog. She can be protective of her food and space at home but only with dogs, not with humans. She does like dogs she meets at the park and is friendly to them, however she doesn't like them in her home. Atlin is smart and knows her commands (sit, down, come, stay, off, take it and has good recall off leash).

She likes her car rides, loves her kennel and is housetrained. She loves her walks and can be full of beans, but then laid back at home. She loves her toys which she joyfully chews but does not chew on anything else nor does she have destructive behaviour. So lay in a supply of toys for her. Atlin will be the perfect companion for the right home, she's timid and unsure of things like busy places and traffic. Nor does she like a busy home with lots of people. That's just her personality as she is a shy one. A quiet home where she is the only dog and her comfort level is understood, is what Atlin needs to flourish. Alton prefers to have her owner to herself and will seek out the human she prefers. She's a loving one person fur companion, just looking for her perfect match

No Borders Animal Rescue Society (NOBARS)

We are a registered non profit society. All our dogs are vaccinated, sterilized and are fostered in homes with families.

NOBARS believes that a dog is best assessed for a new home environment by living in one!!!! Therefore we do not use kennels, but have a network of approved foster homes where our dogs can be properly assessed before being offered for rehoming. Our foster homes offer a varied range of experiences which means we can choose an appropriate foster home for each dog, but it also means our dogs are able to experience situations which are invaluable to owners looking to take on a new forever friend, such as children, cats and other dogs.
