My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Annie!

Annie is a sweet, 8yr, 48lb, Terrier Mix in need of a home as her owner went into a long term care facility. She’s a little shy at first but once she knows you she is very loving. She has arthritis in one of her back legs so is on medication and will occasionally limp.

Annie's adoption fee is $100 and is being fostered in Franklin, WI.

What is a "Courtesy Cupid"?

Courtesy Cupids are beloved pets that need to be re-homed because of varied circumstances. They are living with their current families, and are not part of the Canine Cupid foster system. Due to the third party nature of these courtesy postings, Canine Cupids makes no guarantee, and claims no knowledge as to the accuracy of the information provided regarding the pet and cannot be held liable for any misrepresentation or misunderstanding between the current owner and the applicant.

Applicants must fill out an online application in order to be placed in contact with the surrendering family. Canine Cupids will only be responsible for processing the application and screening any provided references as a courtesy to the family surrendering the pet. It will then be up to the current owner and applicant to then communicate, in as much detail as requested, the animals age, health, behavior, background, schedules, eating habits, sleeping habits, play styles or anything else that may assist in making a good match between the surrendered pet and the applicant. Because all our Courtesy Cupids are fostered in private homes, an approved application MUST be on file before proceeding with a meet-and-greet. The online application can be found at http://www.caninecupids.org/adopt-.html.

About Canine Cupids
Canine Cupids is a rescue in Milwaukee that is comprised of volunteers who have been fostering for various organizations and volunteering at our local animal control. Canine Cupids focuses on Milwaukee’s homeless dogs, but will always help a dog in need when we can — regardless of location.

Canine Cupids is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. For more information visit www.caninecupids.org.

Our Thoughts on Visual Breed Identification
Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable. For most of our adoptable Cupids we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We think it’s most important is to get to know each dog as an individual! We then do our best to describe each of our adoptable Cupids based on their personalities in order to determine whether they’ll make good companions based on prospective adopters’ lifestyles. Dog behavior is not exclusive to breed — it’s a complex mix of nature and nurture.
