My story

Jace is a handsome, brindle, Shepherd / Bully-Breed mix. He is approximately 3 years old and weighs around 55 pounds. He has a moderate energy level and is crate-trained and housebroken. He is good with older kids and some dogs, and we are continuing to work on his interactions with other dogs. He is not good with cats.

ADOPTION:

Training (for both the dog AND the family) increases the probability of a successful adoption. We feel strongly that training is an essential part of responsible dog ownership and we now require training for every dog placed through the MTGSR program. The cost of adoption is $500 which includes the $250 adoption fee and a training fee of $250 due at the time of adoption.

For the adoption fee, the dog will be spayed/neutered, current on all vaccinations, current on heartworm/flea-tick preventatives and microchipped.

The training fee will include a plan tailored to that specific dog and that dog's needs (obedience training, behavior modification, etc.) and typically includes three private training sessions.

PLEASE NOTE: Our philosophy is “Rescue locally, place locally” which means we primarily pull dogs from shelters in the Nashville area AND we prefer to place our dogs in homes within a one-hour drive of Nashville. If you are outside of the Nashville area, please consider adopting a homeless dog in your local community.

More about this rescue

Middle Tennessee German Shepherd Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the mission of providing medical care, temperament evaluation, rehabilitation, training and placement of German Shepherd Dogs and other herding/working breeds. Our program includes dogs rescued from shelters, dogs found as strays by individuals, as well as owner-surrenders needing to be re-homed. Prior to adoption, all dogs are spayed/neutered, brought up-to-date on all vaccinations, are heartworm tested and micro-chipped. Our extremely high placement success rate results from carefully matching the right dog with the right family; Our goal is to provide German Shepherd Dogs permanent homes with qualified owners.
