My story

Estimated birth date: ~Jan. 2011 If you are interested in Nikko, please contact FOSTER PARENT: Pat at southofyou_98@yahoo.com or 305-431-7073. A very sweet boy, Nikko is FIV positive. An ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE can be downloaded by entering our website www.thecatnetwork.org and sending to foster parent. The Cat Network does not have a shelter; all of our cats/kittens are in foster homes in South Florida. Our adoption fee is $75 for cats that are not microchipped, and $85 for microchipped cats, which includes deworming, age appropriate vaccination, and testing for Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. Note: ADOPTION FEE for PUREBRED type cats, with or without papers, ranges from $75 - $250, and is determined by the foster parent. These cats are designated with 'Higher adoption fee may apply' on their web listing. All kittens and cats 3 months and older have been spayed or neutered; many of the younger kittens will be sterilized prior to adoption as well.

Why adoption is a great option

Nikko, a Miami Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Miami, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Miami.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Miami already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Miami breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Miami paves the way for another one to be saved.
