Mom has been admitted to a memory care facility and can no longer care for her dogs. She has had them since they were 8 weeks old. They have been living mostly just with her but were comfortable with various different care givers coming in each day. They bark when someone new comes in but quickly settle down and love to sleep on your lap or close to you. Dwyn (red) is 12 yo. 3 years ago she had Glaucoma, yes dogs get it too, & had one eye & then the other removed due to pain from the condition. She adjusted well and walks about confidently in familiar surroundings. Blair (the black dog) was from the same family who raised dachshunds in San Jose, CA; so they are sisters. She is 8 years old. Like many dachshunds, she has a back issue (some stenosis) and takes 1/2 tab of Carprofen once a day. She is also encouraged not to jump up on people and things. Otherwise she is a very active girl who loves to run in the yard with my granddaughter. They deserve a new forever Mom.
