We adopted Persephone (per-SEH-fə-nee) (we call her Sniffs) about 6 months ago. She was dumped in a field with 2 other dogs when her owners were evicted. The owner of the field shot at the dogs. She was shot with buckshot once and is missing two toes on her back right foot. Despite this, she is a sweet, loving dog who enjoys cuddling up next to you. We are re-homing her because shortly after we adopted her we found out that my wife was pregnant. Our worry is her accidentally harming the baby due to her energy and and carelessness. Because of this, I would not recommend her for a home that has small children. She is an escape artist as well. She has squeezed through gaps in our fences, dug holes under the fence, broken harnesses and wiggled her way out of harnesses. She never runs away though, she just stays around the house. We wish we could keep her, but with the due date soon, we are running out of options. If you have the time and ability to help her please let me know.
