Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bones wandered up to our house about a month ago. (We named him Bones temporarily because he was just skin & bones when he found us and full of fleas and worms!)
We put out fliers but no one claimed him so we took him to our vet to check for a microchip but he did not have one. We had our vet do an exam and he estimates Bones to be no more than 3 years old. A few of his teeth had been broken and the vet says it is likely that someone had him tied or chained and he tried to chew his way loose. He did have a heavy clip on his collar when he found us. He was also full of fleas so we got him on a monthly flea pill. He was Heart Worm NEGATIVE! & is on the monthly pill. We also got him neutered AND microchipped! He is a sweet dog and gets along good with our 3 dogs. Our kids are grown so we do not know how he is with kids. The only bad habit he has that we are working with him on is that he sometimes wants to jump up at you because he is so happy to see you but he is beginning to learn "DOWN and SIT". This boy had a ruff start at life and we want to see him get into a safe and loving home. We would consider helping out with training classes for him to help him learn more commands and help him integrate with his new family. He does well in our yard with his dog house. When the weather has dipped near freezing, we have brought him in and crated him and he crates with ease and is quiet and calm in the crate. Even when our cats walk by!!! He does not dig and is not a barker. He only gives a couple barks if someone approaches our home to let us know someone is here.
