My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MUFFIN (TENNESSEE)
Muffin is a 9-year-old, 11-pound, Yorkie girl being fostered near Clarksville, TN.
What a wild ride Muffin has had since coming into rescue! This sweet girl came to us very sick and severely underweight and her condition was very guarded. She was losing weight rapidly, and spent lots of time back and forth to the Vet trying to figure out why. After seeing a specialist Vet and undergoing lots of testing, it was discovered that Muffin has a condition called Lymphangiectasia. In a nutshell, this means that the lymph glands in Muffin’s body that line her stomach and intestinal tract are dilated (enlarged) more than normal. This causes her body to lose protein through her intestinal tract. Lymphangiectasia is a chronic and potentially serious condition that Muffin will have the rest of her life. But the GOOD NEWS is that Muffin has responded so well to her treatment that she has gained 3 pounds and turned into a very happy, playful, and happy pup that no one would ever guess has even been sick a day in her life. Because she is doing so well, we would really love for her to find a very special Forever Home of her own. You can read up about Muffin’s condition on line by clicking the link below:

Now onto the GOOD STUFF! Muffin is a sweet lady who loves to lounge around with her human and have cuddle time. But she also loves to play with her favorite ball and wants her person to play throw and fetch with her. Muffin in house-trained too but because of her GI issues she will have a rare “accident” but it is not her fault and these are few and far between. She gets along well with dogs her size but she CAN BE VERY SELFISH when her toys or food are involved. Muffin also LOVES to ride in the car and will be the first out the door when it’s time to go. We feel her ideal home is one with all adults or older children only. A calm, laid back atmosphere is also a must because stress can be a trigger for her illness.
Muffin is a special needs dog and will always be one but with good Vet care, medication, special food and mostly LOTS OF LOVE we have every reason to believe she can lead a normal life. Now a beautiful pup she is such a far cry from the sick, sad little bag of bones who arrived into UYR months ago! Are you a patient adult with a heart for rescue, access to good Veterinary care and the financial means to be the HERO that Muffin is waiting for? If so, then please email her foster mom for additional information at tnyorkiemom12@gmail.com or complete an application to adopt him TODAY! And any donations towards her care would be very much appreciated!
