My story

Hi! I'm Percival! I'm a brand new doggie in rescue and I'm having a lot of fun in my foster home with four kittens to play with!

I'm a Shih Tzu with a cool haircut, and I love to play with toys. I've also discovered those apple-chicken dog treats from Costco and I love those, too!

I'm really affectionate and love to be close to my peeps, but I respectfully ask you not to pet me or pick me up.

I'm a little guy and I don't know yet that the approach of a human hand is safe - for most of my life I was picked up, squeezed, stuffed in purses, vaccinated - it was all too scary - so I do not enjoy petting or picking up ---
but hey, maybe you could help me with some training along those lines.

Also if you look at my photos - I have bad conformation - it is a genetic disorder called "chondodysplasia" - it is caused my inbreeding. My foster mom is pretty sure I was born in a puppymill - I am a purebred Shitzu and that would explain my crummy conformation and my fear of being grabbed and touched. I do love giving kisses and I am SOOO happy to meet anyone who comes into the house. I especially love men.
