My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

5/15/09 - I'VE BEEN ADOPTED!

The results from Abby's biopsy are back and it turns out that her mammary tumors are indeed malignant (please see the picture of Abby's belly). She is scheduled to have the tumors removed on January 19th. Our vet will also be able to determine if the cancer has spread to her lungs or other parts of her body.

Abby is the sweetest little lap dog - she is happy to be wrapped up like a baby and be carried around everywhere like a little princess! Abby came to us with several mammary tumors as well as frequent urination and matted eyes. Our vet determined that Abby suffers from dry eyes and probably has most of her life. Unfortunately, she has lost a good portion of her vision as a result of not receiving treatment. After receiving an X-Ray, our vet told us that Abby had one bladder stone about the size of a quarter (SEE PHOTO) which probably resulted from a poor diet. Abby had surgery this week to remove the stone and our vet also took a biopsy of one of her mammary tumors to determine if they are cancerous or not. During surgery, our vet also discovered that Abby had never been spayed, so he went ahead and removed her ovaries which were very taken over with cancer. Please keep Abby in your thoughts and prayers as she recovers from surgery over the next week or so.
