Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Milo is an 6-8 year old lab/spaniel mix who came to Franklin County Dog Shelter when his previous owner died and the family didn't want him 😭 The first day or so with him at home was tough because he was just so confused in a new home. He kept running around looking out the windows, like he was searching for something. Now that he has had more time to decompress, he is pretty darn near perfect. Calm and very little phases him. He loves human attention. Good with dogs and cats. He should be fine around older children 12 years and up.
He is now neutered and has had a full medical evaluation. He does have minor cataracts that are causing a tiny bit of vision impairment. He has some small growths on his hip, aspirated and they are non-cancerous and in no way harming him. His blood panel was perfect. He is marking a little so is wearing a band until his hormones get adjusted from his neuter. He is exceptionally sweet and decent on a leash. He loves being with his people, hates being kenneled or crated and really doesn't need to be. He is a bit underweight and is on a quality grain feed food. He is about the size of a cocker spaniel-perfect for a lap dog.
His ideal home will be a older single or mature couple who is home often to keep him company. Fenced yard is preferred but we can discuss. He is a very low key and a settled calm pup so we want his home to be quiet and calm as well. No long hours working and he being left alone for hours on end. He would be a perfect office, take to work type dog. We'd really like to see him become a resident comfort dog at a nursing home, like our two former rescues-Murray and Louie- are. This would really be absolutely perfect for him as he loves being with people.
