My story

Disney is a 6 year old male. He has been waiting for his perfect home for a very long time. He is a good boy most of the time but can present some challenges which include the behavior of an untrained, goofy puppy at times. We have learned what triggers that behavior and how to avoid and stop it. Disney is our Peter Pan Pyr. He can't seem to 100% grow up, still loves toys and is a fun happy boy. Disney has matured into a very handsome 90 pounds. We will be looking for an experienced adult only home committed to house training (manners) and working obedience into his everyday life. He needs structure and routine. Disney does have house expereince, is fine in a crate for a reasonable length of time, loves car rides and is quite the affectionate boy. He is good for the groomer and vet, walks well on leash with the right collar and does well with most other dogs. Even though he is good with most all other dogs he prefers human attention. His best match will be as an only dog home with play dates or doggy day care to give him some canine socialization. If placed with another dog, a resident female would be his best match.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process includes completing an adoption application, allowing a home/site visit, and if approved for adoption, signing a legally binding adoption contract at the actual time of adoption. Our adoption application can be found on our website at and can be completed on line or downloaded for printing.

The application will ask for a personal reference and the name and phone number of your current and/or past veterinarian. Vet records must verify that pets receive/have received good care, both in the case of illness/ injury and preventative care (vaccinations, etc). Current pets must be up to date on preventative vet care and spayed or neutered (unless there are extenuating circumstances). We will contact you by phone upon receipt of your application but feel free to call or email with any specific questions.

A securely fenced property is required. Great Pyrenees must be in secure fencing or on leash at all times, for their own safety, as they cannot be reliably trained to a property boundary.

We request of adopters a minimum donation to GPRCI of $200 at the time of adoption to help with some of the vet care expense.

Go meet their pets

Adoptable Great Pyrenees are shown by appointment, usually after a completed application is received and an initial phone interview is conducted.
