Approximately five years old this July. Adopted at 4-5 months and were forwarn about the owners toddler hitting him etc. He has always been a very active, cuddly dog. Crate trained when younger so he hasn't needed it in years. Neutered. Gets along with cats, some dogs but he does keep his distance at the dog park. The issue is his major anxiety around children. He absolutely needs a child free home so he can actually participate in day to day life and be his normal happy self. He growls constantly and has nipped at kids. It's not safe for he young kids we have and family we have around. He's a great watchdog, barks at every loud noise and knock on the door. He is tall enough to reach the counters and loves pizza so you gotta watch that! Overall, miles is a great dog that we have loved dearly but our growth is stunned by this behavioral issue. We have tried training, calming treats, pheromone collars, etc (anxiety meds not recommended by vet) Extremely hard decision, please understand.
