Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Need a Little Spunk in Your Life?
Hi, my name is Hal and I’m a 9-year-old male Lhasa Apso mix. Sorry but I can’t tell you much about my past because I came into the shelter as a stray. Sadly I was living all alone on the streets (I know can you imagine a cute guy like me out there by myself?) until one day I was lucky enough to be brought there. While it is nice to have good food, fun with the volunteers and a warm place to sleep, at my age, I’m ready to find my forever family and become a loved, integrated indoor member of the family. Hey could that be with you?
Here are some things you should know about me:
I’m a very sweet boy
I could be housebroken because I wait to go potty outside my kennel
I’ve got a lot of energy for an older guy
I take treats gently – and I LOVE them
I love to sleep on my back with my legs wide open
I love to run and play in the yards
One of my favorite things is to sit in a volunteers lap
I really enjoy going for walks
When I first got here I was very shy (I bet you’d be too) but I’ve really blossomed and come out of my shell
I’m the perfect size for a house, condo or apartment
I’m the perfect companion for an older person or couple
Worried About Adopting an Older Dog? Don’t Be! Just as a puppy has his whole life ahead of him, so do I. The difference? I just want to spend it with you – safe and warm inside. Since I’ve been here I got to see a private vet for my Forever Young Senior Wellness Check-Up. I needed to have a benign mass removed from my hind end and have my teeth cleaned. Don’t they look great?! Now I’m good to go!
Older dogs are one in a million and give a special kind of love to our owners. We have endless love to give and never give up. And we roll with life’s ups and downs – after all I’ve had to since finding my way to the shelter through no fault of our own.
