My story

Lucky was found wondering the streets of South Union, Houston TX. He was found with a docked tail and microchipped but had been dumped by his owners who no longer wanted him. He was scrounging for food and a safe place to take shelter. He came to us right away when we offered food.

Lucky is a very sweet boy who has a ton of energy and loves to run and play and jumps like he is part kangaroo. He is good with other dogs, cats and children but most of all he loves his human and would make a great companion for any family.

Lucky is fully vetted, crate trained, potty trained, and good on a leash.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Pet Rescue Team has an adoption and interview process that allows us to make sure that we match you with the perfect pet for your family. There is an application to be completed followed by an interview and follow up that may include a phone call, email or home visit. Depending on the breed you are interested in, a home inspection may be required prior to adoption approval.

After the application has been submitted and reviewed, you will be contacted by the foster of the pet you are interested so that you may have a meet and greet and any questions can be answered by the foster as they have been caring for the pet and know his/her personality and demeanor best.

Our adoption fee is $200 and it does include spay/neuter, vaccinations, rabies, de-wormer, and microchip.

If you are interested in meeting a specific dog/cat please let us know and we can arrange a meet and greet with the foster. Please keep in mind that Pet Rescue Team is a foster and volunteer based rescue group and all are unpaid. We try to respond to you as quickly as possible but please allow us 2-3 days to get back to you.

Please go to our website at www.petrescueteam.com and fill out an application (required to foster or adopt one of our adoptable pets)

Go meet their pets

More about this rescue

Pet Rescue Team is a foster based rescue group that focuses on rescuing homeless, abandoned, neglected and abused companion animals in the Houston, Tx and surrounding areas.

Houston, Tx has an over population of stray animals of 1.2 million and it continues to rise. The hardest hit areas of course are in the low income communities of Houston. We focus on one of those communities, South Union & Sunnyside, in Southside Houston boarding the 3rd Ward.

We do our best to educate the community of the importance of spay/neuter and basic care of their pets. We help as many of them that need help with vet care and food for their pets. We focus on the street dogs and try to help keep them alive while we network them to get them off the streets and vetted, rehabilitated and socialized so that they can be placed in a loving forever home.
