Palmetto is a 3.5 year old mountain cur that was rescued from a humane society 3 years ago. Since her adoption, we have had a baby and that baby is now an active toddler.
Palmetto does not seem to do well around small children. She has NOT BITTEN anyone, but has growled and snapped at my child. She does best with adults or older children that can play with her.
Palmetto is very loyal and protective of her master but she is also very fun, active (loves to run and dig), and a very quick learner that aims to please.
Palmetto is currently on 20mg of Prozac, daily. She was put on this during my pregnancy as her anxiety began as food aggression towards our male dog and the uneasiness of my pregnancy. Once the baby was born, we were able to realize it was her anxiety towards small children, thunder and fireworks.
Palmetto is a great dog and will be a great addition to the right home and family. If you have any questions, please ask! We truly love Palmetto and want to do what is best!
