My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you suffering from empty nest syndrome? Than we have your cure! Ladybug is the sweetest, most loving fox-terrior! She spent her first five years of life taking care of her pups (former puppy mill momma of 10 litters!) and now needs someone to take care of her. If you are looking for someone to pour your love and attention into – Ladybug is your girl.

Shy at first, after a few days, Ladybug attaches to her people. She gives kisses and enjoys just snuggling on top of you. Once comfortable, she is not shy about seeking out your attention! She hops on the chair next to her foster mom/dad, gives kisses and wags her tail like a helicopter until they give in to her demand to be scratched.

Ladybug was raised in a small dog run and was never taught basic commands and normal everyday tasks. She has mastered going up and down stairs and will come when you call her name and ask her to go outside. She is about 80% there with housetraining. She goes days at a time and then has an accident. Her foster parents are starting to see a pattern with these accidents and are positive that with a little more training she will be completely successful. She does much better on days when people are home to keep her company.

Even though she was raised in a dog run, she is not afraid of the crate. She often goes into the crate to relax and chill. She prefers the crate that has a covered “roof” and is more den-like. Likewise, she is fine with being crated when her humans are not home.

Ladybug also loves snuggling with her 4-legged foster brother and sister. She shows no interest in the two-legged children in the house. She would do well in an adult only house or with older children who understand how to respect her boundaries. She would also do well being the only dog in a house where she is completely spoiled or a companion dog to another low-activity snuggle bug. Her reaction to cats is unknown.
