York is a handsome dachshund mix boy, who is 3/4 dachshund and 1/4 Beagle and full of love to give to give to a family! York weighs 19 pounds and is 9 years old with beautiful amber eyes.
Handsome York is house trained and crate trained, but he will bark and cry if he if left in the crate for extended periods. Like all dachshunds he will need to be confident in his environment to have good potty habits. All rescue dogs go thru a period of adjustment so understanding and patience is important. He is a smart, happy, well behaved boy.
York loves to sleep in the big bed and would very much like a home that would let him have big bed privileges. York just LOVES to sleep on a pillow on the big bed in his North Carolina Foster Home and has his very own in his loving foster home. York gets along well with other dogs, but it would be best if he was the only male dog in the house. He loves children of all ages, and kitties too! York is very loving and loves cuddles and belly rubs.
York is very well trained and well mannered. He has separation anxiety and he would like a home where his people would be home with him most of the time. He will cry when he is left alone. In his former home York went hiking in the mountains often and loves to go for a car ride. York is even a seasoned flyer! York has spent time kayaking and boating and loves to be active! York is looking for a home with a fenced yard so he can enjoy his outside time.
