My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi my name is Barkley. My doctor says that I am about 6-7 yrs old. I love to play and have fun - have even been called a jokester on occasion. I love to be outside but also like to snuggle up with you especially if you'll rub my ears and scratch my neck (although I might fall over because I get so relaxed). I might also backtalk you on occasion if you tell me I have to wait on something, but I will wait -- just want to make sure you don't forget I am waiting!

I love to play with the other dogs and cats I am currently staying with. Although the older dogs get tired before I do, so that is often when I get in trouble for "helping" around the house.

One of.my front legs isn't as strong as the other one. My doctor says it's where the joint was misformed as I grew up possibly due to poor nutrition. So that front foot turns out at n angle. It's a lot better now and is a lot stronger but I have to do some physical therapy several times per week to keep it that way. If I run to much my leg will swell and bother me for a few days, so you sometimes have to remind me to take it easy. I can go for walks at an easy walking pace for 1-2 miles now, which I love! I also have to take a daily joint supplement. But between the supplements and physical therapy, we seem to be keeping the arthritis at bay for now.
