⤠GROVER ⤠Grover is a handsome purebred Cocker Spaniel roughly five years old. Grover was found as a stray some months ago but, despite a diligent search being made, no one came forward to claim him. Given the condition in which he was found it's likely that Grover was dumped. He was thin and also infested with fleas and clearly had been neglected. A Good Samaritan took care of Grover and had him vetted and groomed. She managed to place him with a couple she knew but the placement did not work out. When left unattended on a couch with a baby he bit to protect his bone. We do not consider Grover to blame, as an infant and dog with a bone in his mouth should not have been left unattended, particularly when both were on furniture. Grover has not exhibited resource guarding in other contexts so we think could be placed with older children who are experienced with animals and respectful of their space. Grover enjoys the company of other dogs and plays nicely with them. He is a healthy boy who has been neutered, microchipped, is current on all shots, and has tested negative for heartworm. He will be professionally groomed before adoption and will go home with a new leash and collar. If you would like to adopt or foster Grover, please email rescue@nyabandonedangels.com or visit www.nyabandonedangels.com, where you can complete an application online. This special boy is in need of chance ... we are seeking to set him up for success. He will put his best paw forward. (NY, NJ, CT, PA, MA, RI, VT, NH, DE, MD, VA)
