Meet Minerva, a beautiful jet black Cocker Spaniel with natural tail. Minerva came to us from Animal Care and Control of NYC, where she fell almost fatally ill with a very severe upper respiratory infection that quickly turned to pneumonia. Minerva has had a narrow escape, bouncing back only in the ICU at Manhattan's Animal Medical Center, where her status was really touch and go. We are extremely grateful for all in the rescue community (our followers on Facebook and others) who donated generously to fund her care, without which she would have died. Minerva continues to recover at our vet's office, where we expect her to remain for a while. She is in urgent need of a foster home where she can continue to rally her strength. Minerva is wonderful dog with a very gentle disposition who will make an excellent family pet. She has been spayed, microchipped, is current on all shots, and has tested negative for heartworm. Minerva will be professionally groomed before she is placed and will go home with a new leash and collar. If you would like to adopt or foster Minerva (named for the goddess of wisdom) please emailrescue@nyabandonedangels.com or visit www.nyabandonedangels.com, where you can complete and return an on-line application. Minerva is ready to bring canine good sense to your doorstep and lots of warmth to your heart.
