My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Pippi Shortstocking and I am awesome! In fact I am so awesome my foster family has started calling me “Perfect Pippi”. I am about 4 years old and I was turned into the shelter with another female basset who is also with CBHR and now named “June Carter”. I am totally house trained and can be left alone uncrated all day with no problems. I have amazed everyone with how quickly I picked up the routine of the house. My foster family has 4 kids and I love them all and I would be fine with kids of any age. I am not rough at all, I am very gentle and sweet. I love to snuggle and hang out with the people in the house. I make a nest on the back of the couch pillow to lay in. I even get to sleep in the bed at night because I am very petite and I hardly take up any room at all. I am kind of a silly, wiggly, butt when I get excited. I walk really great on the leash and even the kids can take me for a walk. Yesterday my foster Dad took my foster sister and I on a “Spa Day”. We went to the dog wash and then to the pet store to get some pretty outfits. My fur is so soft and shiny now and I just love my new polka dot fleece jacket. I sure liked all that excitement and I really liked going for a ride in the car. I would love to find a home that has another dog because I love the company. I was very affectionate with the other dog I was at the shelter with and I seem to like to mother other dogs. My foster sister is not that affectionate-Mom says she is kind of a grouchy lion prima donna type. She likes me, she just is not the touchy feely type. I have started to win her over and this morning she walked by and gave me a kiss on the nose and then ran away. She lets me kiss her now and then, but she makes funny faces at me while I kiss her. I am slowly winning her over and she is even teaching me to play with toys. I am also very cute. I have beautiful red freckles on my nose and my ears are really long and silky. They are so long in fact that my foster Mom tucks them into my collar when I eat so I don't bite them by accident. If you are looking for a perfect dog to add to your family then fill out an application for me Pippi Shortstocking. I just know it won't be long for me to find my forever family. 12/18/13
