Like most of the other dogs that were seized from the Heddins Puppy Mill, Zippy was part of the breeding stock. Thin and covered in fleas, his major medical issue is severe periodontal disease and several front teeth that will most likely be removed when he has his dental. His right ear has a very bad cut of about 2 inches, AND his left ear has some nasty nicks too. His ears, eyes and coat are so much better now. He is adjusting well in his foster home, gets along fine with the resident basset hounds, is showing some interest in squeaky toys, beginning to play and interact with humans for attention. Zippy is still a little skittish with sudden movements or noises...but that too is improving. The recent storms were only slightly worrisome for him. His life in a crate has come to an end, and a whole new world of belly rubs and treats is awaiting him in his new forever home...not to mention lots of food to get some weight on his skinny bones!
