Hi! I’m Maximus, the fearless Roman basset hound! Well, I may not be Roman. I haven’t checked that out yet, but I AM brave and bold. Nothing scares me – not even thunderstorms or fireworks. My courage comes from my curiosity for life. I’m very interested in people and other dogs, and I love following them around just to be near them, enjoying their many smells.

I’ve been told a time or two that I don’t respect personal space. I don’t really understand why space has to be so personal though. If I can fit into the tiny space underneath your armpit, then shouldn’t it be considered my personal space? After all, I’m the one who had to figure out how to fit there in the first place.

Anyway, I am hoping I can find a great forever home soon that will gladly welcome me into their personal space. I would be so happy for the rest of my life if someone would come along and let me invade their personal lap space, yard space, and, very best of all, heart space!
