My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Maddy May is a sweet 10 yr. old basset who came to us as an owner surrender.  She is a little confused and nervous about her situation, but we are trying to get her settled in with all her new foster brothers and sisters (4 legged and 2 legged).  She gets along with other dogs cat.  She is very nervous when left alone and will bark and whine, even if you are just in another room behind a closed door.  I feel certain this is just her adjusting to a new environment, but will keep you posted.  We are working on her house training: she does know how to go to the door, but does not give you much time to get there.  She is one of the softest basset hounds I have ever touched and all she wants is to curl up next to someone and be petted.  Please check back for updates on this sweetie.

UPDATE: It took a while, but Maddy May has settled down and has become a very well behaved dog. She was very scared and upset after being surrendered, but has finally adapted She loves to cuddle with people and play with her foster brother. She is completely housebroken and not afraid to go outside by herself. She is crate trained, but I no longer confine her to it when I leave the house. She does like to go in on her own and sleep. She no longer gets upset when we leave the house, but I think it does help to have other dogs around. When you come home, she is the first to greet you. She is ready for her forever home and will be a great and loyal addition to any home.

Please no cats for Maddy May!
