My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Heidi is a 3-4 year-old petite Basset (only 22 pounds).  After getting sprung from a puppy mill, she is slowly becoming socialized and learning to trust humans.  Her first response is to run from them!  Fortunately the dogs at her foster home are showing Heidi the ropes, and she is thankful they are mentoring her.  Her favorite time of the day is meal time, and we have nicknamed her "the jumping bean."  She isn't sure what to think about humans, but she does prefer them to have food.  She now enjoys being up on the couch and snuggling with her foster parents, while they scratch her ears and rub her belly. She'll even fall asleep snuggled up next to them.  She is physically healthy, great with other dogs (they help ease her anxiety about humans), and about 75% potty trained.  She thinks squeaky toys are horrible because they make a loud, scary noise.  Experienced basset hound owners with patience are required.

Heidi has a pending adoption!
