My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Bonnie Belle is such a happy, sweet dog.  She adores people...and has really great energy, which she adjusts to the situation at hand.  When the family is running around and playing, she's happy to join in, but as a card carrying member of the hound family, she's always happy to lounge at your feet, or have her belly rubbed. When she first arrived with her foster family, she was so calm and quiet, but when she got her first treat, the bunny hopping she did around the house was a sight to see. You have to love a dog who adjusts her activity level to that of her family.

Bonnie Belle puts the easy in easy going. She transitioned to her new foster home easily, she takes commands easily and she was easy to adjust to any rules of the house. This girl's got no bad habits, either. She doesn't even jump on people....ever. How great is that? She's patient about dinner time and potty time and just goes with the flow. As the song goes, she's easy like Sunday morning.

She's really great with children, both younger and older. Her foster parents have a young child with special needs who Bonnie Belle is very respectful of, as well as a tween and teen, who she adores playing with.

This little girl loves her people, but isn't a huge fan of the other dogs or cats she's met so far while the rescue has had her, so her current foster placement is in a home with no other pets, and she's doing spectacularly.

She is quite obedient. She knows and abides by no, sit and stay, even when temptation is right at hand. She enjoys being outdoors, but doesn't love this Texas summer heat, so she's been coming back in fairly quickly in the afternoons. Who can blame her, right? Since she's housetrained, and is uber respectful of the house, she's fine inside for long periods of time. AND, she has a short hair fur with minimal shedding...another plus!

She will probably do the best as the only dog of the family...unless just the right dog is the other resident.  As far as her family goes, Bonnie Belle is just looking for a family who'll love her as much as she loves them.  How about it? Can you stand being loved soooooo much?
