My story

Pookie is a pretty, black and white kitty, born on March 26, 2016. She’s a bit smaller than her brother, Spooky, and a bit shyer, too. Her black facial markings give her a whimsical, clown-like appearance.

She has come a long ways but still needs a bit more patience and human understanding before she becomes the full time sweetie she shows her sibling. Pookie is never aggressive and can be petted, but isn't as friendly as her panther brother. The other cats in the cat room tend to pick on her, so we’re hoping she can find a home soon.

Pookie and Spooky love to hang out together and play, so we’re hoping they can find a loving heart and home big enough for both of them so they can stay together. A special, reduced adoption fee applies for the pair.

More about this rescue

Formed in 2008, Cinderella Pet Rescue was established to rescue animals from abuse, neglect and abandonment and to help prepare the for adoption. Additionally CPR promotes spay/neuter to reduce the serious homeless pet crisis in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas. An all volunteer organization, there are normally between 55 and 65 dogs at our no-kill shelter as well as a couple dozen cats. Even more pets are placed in foster homes in preparation for adoption. Not funded by anyone, Cinderella Pet Rescue counts on donations and fundraisers to support the needs of the animals in care, from food to veterinary treatment. More volunteers and foster homes are always needed.
