I am Péko (Pay-co), a seven-year-old and very handsome male sheltie, or miniature collie. I am a purebred, tattooed and all.
I had to be given up by my family because I had a very serious case of mange and needed some serious intervention, but I am now well on my way to a full recovery, thanks to Rosie!
I am a typical sheltie in many ways: I am gorgeous, I love people, but can be a bit nervous. I love to get back scratches and will come up to you, look you in the eyes and then spin around so you can reach my back. Then I look at you until you get started. I am a very good communicator! I dance when it’s supper time and chirp and yip and tell you to hurry up, I’m hungry!
I like to play with people and can be very dramatic about it, it’s funny to see. But I don’t like rowdy dogs. I could be with a calmer dog who doesn’t pester me to play too much, but no rowdy ones please!
I do kick up a fuss when someone’s at the door, so no attached living for me, I think. And I am a little overweight so need a good diet and regular exercise to get back to optimal form and prolong my life, and that will also make it easier for me to negotiate stairs. Small dog, short legs, big stairs, big belly, not a good formula!
Experienced sheltie owners will know, that a dog like me needs daily brushing to keep up my looks and I don’t mind it one bit, as long as you don’t pull too hard.
So if want an adorable companion and have a life that fits my needs, apply for me!
