My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, I'm Watney!  My Foster parents call me the little guy with gumption.

I'm a full-blooded mini black-tri Aussie, that's 18-months old and
weigh only 25 lbs. I also have an adorable tail!

When I first came to my foster home I was a little nervous and wasn't
too sure about my new foster family or the big open backyard, however
I warmed up very quickly and enjoy getting to spend time with everyone
now.

I love playing with my purple doughnut and chasing tennis balls,
especially ones that bounce.  The frisbee has peaked my interest and I
may be good at that some day.  I'll play with almost anything I can,
but you'll probably find me de-stuffing the soft toys if I get the
chance.

I do love playing with other dogs and enjoy romping around the house
with my full-size Aussie sister and playing chase in the back yard.
I'm not even half her size, but I can give her a run for her money!
I've also got to meet the resident cat and think she's a little
strange, but would probably like to be friends if time allows our
relationship to grow.

I can relax with my family, but I also like fun activities to keep my
body and mind busy.  If I get a chance I will find something on my own
to entertain me, like my foster family's pot holders and oven mitts.
I'm also a couple of pounds over weight so any fun activities, like
walking, could help me with my weight loss goals too!

When I hear something outside, I sometimes make a little noise that
sounds like someone is trying to start a car engine. My foster mom
just laughs at me.  They actually seem to do that at a lot of things I
do.

I do sleep in a crate most nights, but I have gotten to also sleep on
the human bed, which I can jump up on by myself, and they said I was a
great snuggle buddy and the perfect size for a sleeping companion.

My favorite place to be while watching tv is either my own ottoman or
next to my foster dad on the couch.

I can be a tad nervous and a little stubborn at times, especially
outside so for this reason it would probably be best if I have a
fenced yard of my own.

I am potty trained, but I do get very excited when my people come home
and if I'm out of my crate I may sprinkle.  My foster parents have
been working on this by not verbally greeting or petting me and
letting me outside before we say hello, but it is still a work in
progress.

Since I am nervous around new situations and loud noises, I would do best in a home without young children, so I can get the majority of the attention to myself.  All members of the household need to be 15 years-old or older to be considered a great match for me.

I know sit, shake and leave it.  I can do down and wait but they
aren't my favorite and do require a little more convincing.  I will
also go right in my crate for a little treat and usually settle right
down.

If you are looking for a little guy with a lot of personality I could
be the one for you!

I am neutered, up to date on my vaccinations (Rabies, Bordetella and
Distemper),fecal tested (negative), heartworm tested (negative) and I
am micro-chipped. I also take my monthly preventatives!
