My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Duke is an absolutely gorgeous 1.5 year old German Shorthair Pointer mix and is a super happy, friendly dog. Duke is athletic with a high energy level, but calms down quickly after some exercise and attention--don't we all! Responds to basic commands (come, sit, stay) and working on more as we speak. Good on a leash, a bit strong, so working on this as well. Loves to be by your side and really enjoys the company of others. Duke will make a great addition to an active family who has time to spend with him, patience to continue his obedience training, and a family with a fenced in yard or a decent amount of land for him to run, retrieve and play. He is neutered and up to date on all vaccines. Duke is heartworm positive and will be treated for it soon. This sweet boy was found as a stray in Memphis, had been on his own for quite a while, and somehow STILL loves people and loves loves loves other dogs. He would do best in a home with older children and a home without cats. He LOVES to retrieve, and tennis balls may be one of his favorite things in this world. It's actually a beautiful thing to watch how this dog moves so gracefully across the earth. Duke is one of the most captivating dogs I have rescued in a while--a natural beauty, a born retriever, and a total love bug.

He's in TN and can be transported to NJ or the surrounding areas to an adopter. If you are interested, please visit our website www.gsprescuenj.com and complete an adoption application.

Thanks.
