My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*Please note: Thomas is not in the NJ rescue program. This is a cross post listing for AR GSP Rescue. This is Thomas, a 10-14 month old GSP boy. He is very very sweet and like most boys his age, super high energy. I took him running with me a few days ago (about 2.5 miles) and he did great on lead (and wanted us to go farther...). Really needs a home with structure and adopters willing to live thru the 'terrible twos' and everything that comes with a gsp his age. He is great with the other dogs--very 'in your face' play style and likes to mouth-wrestle. He came from a shelter in KS that gets gsp's all the time--Midwest PAWS is full and asked for help. The shelter was going to pts him on a tuesday, but something told them don't do it. The volunteer that pulled him and made transport arrangements went in on wednesday (the day after they were going to euth) and said she was there for Thomas. The shelter staff was crying in happiness b/c they didn't want to euth Thomas since he is so sweet. So far he has been contained by my 6-foot privacy fence. I don't 100% trust him alone for long periods outside. He has some anxiety in a crate--we are working on that. He is housebroken as far as I can tell, but I don't leave him unsupervised in the house. He likes toys of any kind and to play ball. He tries really hard to listen, and I suspect he knows his name (he was picked up stray, the shelter named him and he had been there for a long time, like a month or more). We are working on not jumping up and some basic manners. He weighs about 50-60 lbs (not a giant gsp, but not a little one either) and needs to be neutered. He was vaccinated at the shelter (DHLPP and bordatella) and need rabies and a HW test. I am planning on getting that done here ASAP. If you are interested in adopting Thomas, please contact Stacy @ argsprescue@rocketmail.com. Transport arrangements can be made.
