My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

04/15/2018
Lexie is a 8-9 (estimated) year old, 9 pound Yorkie girl being fostered in Elizabethtown, KY.

Lexie has some words to share!
I am an I.R.S. baby – Irresistible, Radiant, and Spunky. I have come a long way since I was found wandering the streets in November. It was discovered that I was heartworm positive, but my foster Mommy and Daddy have been taking me to the dogtor for treatment. I had my last injection on March 7th, and my dogtor said I was only allowed limited movement for six weeks. My poor foster Mommy and Daddy. I love to play with toys with squeakies and was not happy when my toys had to be put away. Soon I will be able to run around with more freedom and play with my squeaky toys again. In my mind I am doing cartwheels at the thought! Because I am in a loving environment, I have mellowed quite a bit. I love to cuddle and snuggle mostly with my foster mommy. I used to be a lot more scared and would cower more. I still do cower, but with a bit more time in a loving environment I will feel safe and happy. My perfect home would be one without children and without other pets. I can get a bit aggressive with other dogs, and I have been known to bite but it has been awhile. I just want to be loved unconditionally, and I have lots love to give my forever family.
