ADOPTED ON 08-11-18 - Riggs is a sweet loyal guy, he wants nothing more than to be with you!! He was rescued from a high kill shelter in Louisiana. He was in horrible condition, very, very underweight, wormy, and malnourished and covered with fleas. He was taken in by the local pound because a concerned caller in the small town nearby reported that the he was living in harm’s way, was not being cared for and he was playing in the streets without supervision. He also stated that some unruly individuals in the neighborhood were trying to steal him to use as bait dogs. Due to his bad condition, he was scheduled to be put down; fortunately, volunteers that walk the dogs at the shelter, saw what an awesome dog he is and contacted a local foster of RDVG. She had him pulled and Riggs was accepted into rescue.

Riggs loves people and he has the sweetest habit of tilting his head and resting it against your chest so that you can pat him. He is also a talker and will make noise, loves little children and is very gentle with them. He is becoming very comfortable greeting new people and runs up to them to receive attention. He is the kind of dog who truly becomes everyone’s best friend. Riggs has good manners, is excellent in the car and loves to go for rides. Riggs will make an excellent addition to some lucky family. He would love a family that will take his for long daily walks in places where he could run, chase and explore. He likes playing with other dogs so a playful companion would be a plus as well.

Riggs has been through a lot in his short life. In spite of everything Riggs remains sweet, loving and totally adorable. He deserves a wonderful future to make up for all he’s been through – we are looking for a very special family for this handsome guy, one that will make sure he knows he will never be hungry again and most of all love him the way he will love them.

If you're looking for a best friend who will want to be with you all the time, lovingly and adoringly and can show you instantly how much that attention from you means to him, don’t look any further, apply for Riggs today, he won’t last long. As his pictures relay, he's gentle, sweet, and utterly a loyal companion---he is one of a kind. We don’t see many like him, that is why we love him and so will you.

ABOUT OUR RESCUE
These dogs deserve all of our attention, and in Rescue Dog Village, we are committed to our adopters and our dogs equally. We offer full disclosure and hope to make the best matches possible. Please know our adoption donations never cover our expenses. We rely on the generosity of our adopters and supporters to help us help the dogs.

Our rescue is ONLY in the business of offering FULL DISCLOSURE to adopters, and expects and hopes to engage your questions and concerns fully. We owe it to the dogs we rescue and all the wonderful families/adopters who might consider welcoming our charges into their hearts and home. Our dogs are waiting for that ideal forever home where they will be cherihed as deserving family members. It's sad these second chances are even necessary for these dogs, but we are committed to them and will devote the time and energy to their re-homing, and not just MOVE them to save more dogs. We diligently and responsibly seek good matches, as we don't want to re-home the dog again. These animals have already endured more than they should have, and through no fault of their own. It behooves us to be honest and forthright, and we appreciate the same in return from applicants. It's that winning combination of reciprocal trust and respect that allows for successful placements to be made. Happy adopters translate to happy dogs, and that's our goal!

Our rescue volunteers will be more than honored to be in touch with you directly and promptly, after receiving your application and conducting a mandatory a veterinarian check. If you have never owned a dog before, please submit your application regardless, and we will be in touch with you as soon as possible. TAKE NOTE YOU SHOULD CHECK YOUR SPAM AS SOME RESPONSES FROM US WIND UP THERE WE'VE DISCOVERED. Also, take care to contact your veterinarian to let them know a member of rescue will be inquiring about your pet history!
