My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

dob: 11/3/16-purebred m/n, Beagle

HUNTER was rescued when his owner decided that her 2 young boys weren't giving him the attention he needed to have a quality life, on their farm.

Hunter and, his buddy for 1 yr, Rascal(a 1.5yo m, Great Pyrennees-rescued by Pyr rescue), lived some 300yds from their owner's house at the barn, in hopes of protecting their cattle from coyotes.

However, being young and inquisitive, these 2 would get loose all-too-often when the oldest(8yo) would go down to feed the dogs(apparently, he wasn't careful enough and would leave the gate open).

Howlin4Spirit became aware of them when Animal Control picked them up and we saw their post and rescued Hunter back in August, 2017. Then, when their owner contacted AC, they quickly let Howlin4Spirit know that they wanted Hunter back. Which, it turned out to be a neighbor, just up the road from Howlin4Spirit.

When we brought him back to his owner, we told them if they ever decided to rehome them to please let us know. And so, only 5 months & 2 escapades later, that's where we are, today!

Hunter could have easily escaped the 6"X6" holes in their enclosure, but was so devoted to Rascal that he stayed put until Rascal could escape, too. Adventures just aren't as much fun alone, when you could have a good buddy to share adventures with!

Hunter has been with us for a week now, but he's already neutered/micro-chipped, current on all vax, on heart worm & flea/tick prevention, has mastered the 13 steep outside stairs, comes inside with ~30 dogs & 2 humans for 4 hrs of tv-bonding time before bed. &, to our amazement, still NO accidents! He is now crate-trained with NO accidents & walks well on-leash.

Happy, little guy with a lovely, friendly personality. He just wants to please and share in on the fun, that is called 'life' with all his buddies.

Would make a great companion for any size family that has beagle experience, and a secured fenced-in yard.
