Posted: 5-1-2018. Josephina’s middle name must be Spunky, because that sure describes her temperament and activity level! She’s a comical little mixed Chihuahua puppy, born in early February. She currently weighs 5 pounds and has a shiny, soft black coat with brown markings on her legs and face. Josephina has an independent streak, but she enjoys the companionship of other foster puppies of the same age, as well as the extra-large resident Newfoundland. A game of tug-of-war with a rope or squeaky toy is so much fun, and a hearty game of chase is usually followed by a short nap to re-energize!
Josephina loves to give and receive affection from her human friends. She’s just the right size to cuddle with you or be carried in your arms, while giving sweet little puppy kisses. Due to her small size and need for gentle handling, Josephina will need a home without small children. She can only spend a few hours alone at a time while she’s still so young.
Obedience classes will be so much fun with Josephina! She’s a quick learner and will enjoy that time bonding with her family. She will need them to spend lots of time with her as she learns her housebreaking skills and other manners. It is very important that she is continually introduced to new people, dogs, and situations, so that she continues to be a well-adjusted, social dog who is not afraid of new situations.
Josephina will be ready for adoption in mid-May. She’ll be spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on all vaccinations and preventatives and eager to move into her own forever home. Will it be yours?
