My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Teddy was found at the Cheatham County dump about a week and a half ago. He had injuries consistent with being kicked and left as trash. He had, and still has, contusions and severe bruising to his inner thigh, left back leg, abdomen and an injured left rear leg, although they are healing very well because of his young age. He came to the shelter weighing about 5 pounds at approximately 5-6 weeks of age. Over the course of about 5 days he lost almost 1 pound and was very still and quiet in his cage. The sweet lady that volunteers there, Cindy, was worried about him being injured and all alone. She told another volunteer his story and asked her to foster him. She picked him up last Friday and took him directly to my vet. We found out that his leg was definitely broken and that he had the usual intestinal worms. He was so lethargic that he showed no interest in food. We were very worried about him, as he was so very tiny and emaciated, literally just skin and bones.
He has over the course of 4 days, in foster care began to perk up with much tender loving care and good food! Despite his horrible injuries, he is soooo sweet, loving and very friendly! He has been prescribed crate rest for at least 7 days, so his crate is on top of the dryer in our laundry room with a baby gate to keep all the other dogs at a safe distance. From his vantage point he has a view of the living room and hallway. He watches us all quietly and perks up when we come to pet or talk to him. He is just the most adorable little guy in the world. His broken leg doesn't seem to cause him any pain, but does slow him down a bit. He plops down on his bottom with his little leg extended under him (as in the first picture) in the most precious way! He walks with a little tiny hop that only adds to his sweet personality. The vet said, "he shouldn't walk any more strange than I do." LOL So hopefully he won't have any lasting problems from his injuries.
He is a sweet, precious baby and we would love to see him have the wonderful, kind, patient home he deserves.
If you have room in your heart and home for this sweetheart please email for an application.
Teddy's adoption fee is $150.00
