My story

Tortilla is a busy girl who loves to play with toys and her best friend Bjorn. They roll and tumble together like kids ! She is not necessarily a cuddler but when she is tired she will ask to be picked up and cuddled before she goes off for a nap. She is about 7months old and is a small girl. Particular about her food, she goes from bowl to bowl tasting the food in different bowls.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require a personal interview at which time we review our guidelines for pet's care and make sure our contract is agreeable as well as answer any questions. DOGS: The adoption fee is $250 -$350 after completion of the adoption application, home visit and interview. If the dog is over 5 months of age the adoption fee includes heartworm test, rabies vaccine, spay/neuter done, and distemper vaccines (if needed). If you are adopting a puppy under 4 months of age, there is an additional CASH deposit of $80 which is returned when proof of spay/neuter is provided to DFAS within the required time frame (which is part of the adoption contract). CATS: Adoption fees generally are $50 for unaltered cats/kittens and an additional $65 CASH ONLY deposit required until proof of spay/neuter between 4 and 5 months of age has been provided to DFAS.. Kitties who are already spay/neutered are $100 regardless of age. All cats and kittens are up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines and FELV tested if they are over 5 months of age. We test the mom of kittens if she is with them.

More about this rescue

We are a small 501c3 Non Profit Organization facilitating adoptions of cats, dogs, kittens and puppies as well as bunnies, birds, guinea pigs, rats, gerbils and degus. We believe in no more killing of healthy, treatable, trainable and adoptable pets; no more homeless pets! Through our adoption process we educate pet owners about importance of the human/pet bond. Because it is not the animals fault that their previous owner did not spay/neuter or keep them safe from harms way. We want every animal to feel the love that each and every one of them so deserves. Because we are a small volunteer only organization; donations, volunteers and fosters are always in high demand and greatly appreciated! You can sign up to help us thru Kroger Community Rewards and use DEVOTED FRIENDS ANIMAL SOCIETY INC.Organization No.:91559. We are registered with Amazon Smile to receive donations when orders are placed if you select us as your charity. igive.com also will donate to us if you use their page to select vendors and place orders.
