We got 10 boys between 8 mo to 1.5 yrs old from a puppy mill breeder. While these boys were not very old and had not been used for breeding yet, they were already exhibiting some symptoms of being isolated and "kennel soured", very much like PTSD. They have been at my home since early last November. Some are making the adjustment to freedom and living a socialized life interacting with other dogs easier than others. 3 of the boys have already been adopted and are now doing much better. It is my theory that they have made as much progress as they can at my home and need to move on to their new, forever homes. Living here, everytime one of them is frightened, they all react and frighten each other. They have made great progress, some more than others. They all get along with each other and with other dogs, they have learned to play, run & chase, chew on bones, and play with toys. Some have learned to come close for a gentle touch and a treat. They have learned to potty outside but they have not learned to always hold it until they get out there. Our "break even" fee for these adorable boys is $1000.
