Happy is a 12 year old Australian-shepherd mix (we don't know the "mix"). We got him at 7yrs from the Seattle Humane Society. He is housebroken (never had an accident!), rides very well in the car, and is all about being close to his people - He doesn't need to be touching, but he would like to be laying on the floor in the same room as you.
He knows basic commands (sit, stay, lie down etc), and will do absolutely anything for a treat.
Happy came to us with moderate separation anxiety (better now, probably will never be gone). We used to do ongoing training/exercise, but recently have relied on meds because of time constraints. It would be best if he could have someone with him nearly all the time, but we routinely leave him 8-10 hrs a day with few issues (we plan our outings so he isn't medicated more than once per day, but you could do twice if needed).
He hasn't adapted well to our baby (growling & now snapping unpredictably), so we've decided we can't risk keeping him.
