We are proud and honored to have Vera at poke-A-Dot's Rescue. She just got her from Taiwan. We work very closely with an awesome rescue in Taiwan and they know we love small dogs and have offered to help them. These people in Taiwan who are involved in rescue work all have golden hearts. Her is Vera's story...
Vera was rescued with a golden retriever, Willa, together. Both of them were abandoned by the owner of a puppy mill. It’s very easy to tell that they have been used for breeding for all their life. Sadly, they were abandoned when they could no longer have puppies. Both of Vera and Willa have droopy nipples. They must have had litters of puppies over the past years. Both of them are debarked.
Vera is a sweet and happy girl. She used to live in the kennel for all her life and is used to being in a small space. Therefore, she now enjoys the freedom of running and playing now. She is so cute when she hops up and down. She gets along with dogs well and loves to play with them when she's in her playful mood. She deserves a better life instead of breeding and she's on her way now. Vera is a very special dog and we're blessed to be able to help her find the perfect home. Vera weighs about 9 pounds and is around 5-6 years old.
Vera is going to need a little TLC when it comes to her potty habits. She always goes big potty outside, but every now and then she will pee inside. I have faith that she will figure it out. Part of this is because she was confided in a small space so much of her life.
