My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cookie is truly a smart cookie -- she's aced her B.A. and M.A. level tests in our Canine Life and Social Skills training program; now she's working toward her PhD! Being a C.L.A.S.S. graduate means that Cookie gets a neat ribbon and YOU get a really well-trained pup!

Cookie is a 7 year old girl who's a big, happy goofball. Cookie loves her people friends -- loyalty is the name of the game with this girl, and she will make a terrific companion. Cookie's ideal home would be with a person or people who will continue her training (she enjoys challenging that big brain of hers), and where she'll get equal parts outdoor fun time and indoor cuddle time. Cookie loves being active and playful (she's on the SPCA Trail team and would make a terrific jogging partner), but she's also great at chilling out and relaxing by herself. She frequently has sleepovers in our trainer's office and is always a model tenant. Cookie is such an easygoing, good sport that she's our go-to gal for dressing up in costume, as you can see from some of her photos! Cookie is selective with her dog friends and would most likely like to live as an only dog (she also does not want to live with cats).

Cookie is eligible for Critter Credit -- $250 to spend on sessions with a recommended trainer or for a gift card to Petco or Petsmart! Plus, her adoption fee has already been paid by a volunteer who adores her AND she will be going home with a massive goodie bag that includes a bed, her favorite treats and toys, a harness and collar, and a few coats and sweaters to get her wardrobe started!

When to Come:
Our hours are Monday-Saturday 10am-4pm and Sunday 1pm-4pm. Our adoptions are first come, first served based on the status of your application.

What to Bring:
Please bring a copy of your current pet(s)’ vaccination records (if you currently have a dog or cat or did within the last 2 years) and a copy of your lease (if you rent or own a condo/co-op/townhouse) in case we are unable to get hold of your veterinarian or landlord/management company on the day you come in.

Adoption Process:
We do same day adoptions pending application approval/satisfactory reference checks, except in the case of dogs listed as Trainer Adoptions (on occasion, some Trainer Adoption dogs are able to go home same day). With all adoptions, every person living in the home where the dog will reside must come meet the dog, and any dogs already in the home must come for a meet and greet as well.

We do NOT hold animals, nor do we accept deposits in advance. If you have discussed coming in to meet an animal or have an approved application, this does not guarantee that you will get a particular puppy or dog. If you do not bring your dog(s) or all residents of your home to meet the dog, we cannot hold that dog for you.

Adoption Fees & What’s Included:
All dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated (age appropriate), and come with a free veterinary visit from a participating vet within seven days of adoption.

Adults dogs over 1 year of age: $225-$375
All Puppies: $375
Seniors and Lonely Hearts Club members: $85
