Beatrice is a Beagle. 7 years ago, she was found by the side of a road in Arkansas after a storm. She evidently had experienced some trauma. She was taken to a kill shelter, and we took her in. She's been with us for two moves to Virginia and Texas, and throughout the years she's been a part of the family.
She has a meek personality with us and people she knows, but with others (like UPS drivers, and other dogs while out on walks) she barks ferociously. She may or may not be a good watchdog. It would depend who shows up.
She is getting on in years and occasionally has some medical concerns.
While friendly and affectionate, she is also stubborn and won't follow rules--if she can get away with it. E.g., she is forbidden from sleeping on the couches in the living room, but the minute we leave the house she crawls up on them. The second we get home, she quickly hops off and greets us innocently at the door. We have proved this via video surveillance.
Good dog, needs good owner.
