My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kea: 7 year old, spayed female chocolate Lab, 90 lbs

Kea's owner has had since she was a puppy. The owner unfortunately had to move and her current accommodations do not allow dogs. Kea has been staying at a friend's home, but the friend is moving at the end of June and the owner has not been able to find another friend who can take Kea. So she called Lab Rescue to help find this beautiful girl a loving new home.

What Kea’s Rescue Rep says: Kea is a happy, playful, active, spayed female chocolate lab who just turned 7. She enjoys going on walks/hikes and playing fetch and tug in the backyard. She likes to ride in the car and swim. She is easygoing and social and enjoys the company of people and other dogs. Kea is currently living in a home with another dog. Don't know how she would be with cats. Kea knows basic commands and attended group training classes when she was young. She walks fairly well on leash, with some pulling if she sees something she is interested in.

Medical Information: Kea has a recent well check vet visit, is current on shots, spayed, heartworm negative, and micro-chipped. In early 2016 Kea had a tail injury that left her with a limp tail. She is housetrained, but as a result of her injury, will sometimes have leakage. Her current home easily manages when this happens by having her wear diapers inside the house
.
Kea is located in: Los Altos

(Please keep in mind we are all volunteers, most of us work full time and we all have personal lives. I do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient and I will be back in touch with you. When the dogs are in foster homes then it may take longer as we need to touch base with the fosters for updates on the dogs. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week and we do not have a facility that we keep the dogs housed in. They are scattered all over the Bay Area.)
