Here's what the humans have to say about me:
My name is Cap'n Jazz, but people call me "Captain," a.k.a. "Pickle," "Pumpkin Nose," "Orangutan," and "The Ruthless Toothless One," since prior to meeting anyone I currently know, I somehow lost my biggest tooth on the right upper side of my mouth. The best guess I was given is that I am 5 to 7 years old. I used to live in New Jersey, but after getting lost one day, and after months of not being able to find my owner, I was adopted by the child of one of my current cat slaves, where I lived as an indoor/outdoor cat alongside a Corgi for 9 months. I can't say the dog and I were best friends, but we lived side by side without any problems (especially since the Corgi was smart enough to realize that everything he owned now belonged to me.) I also had another dog visit with me for a few weeks, and he and I got along just fine, since he, too, realized his bed and toys were actually mine. When that person had to unexpectedly move, I took a road trip to Long Island, where I have ruled the roost for the last 3 years as an indoor-only cat (because the cat slaves here are too nervous to let me outside). I am quite a large ball of fur, measuring approximately 35 inches long when stretched out, weighing 25.4 pounds at my last weigh-in. I consider myself somewhat of a slinky toy, because I have the ability to shrink enough to squeeze into a small sink but can also take up 2/3 of a couch when stretched out. I am on a strict diet so can be a little demanding when it comes to food, but will "sit" anyway before my meals are served. I love to follow my slaves around to make sure they do things to my liking. I can make all sorts of interesting sounds when I feel like it, and once I get to know you, can even hold a conversation with you. I like to keep watch out the front window and will alert you in one way or another if someone is coming up the driveway. I will sniff anyone who comes into the house and will let you know what I think of them via my very expressive tail. I also will greet you at the door when you return home and will promptly throw myself on the floor in the most dramatic fashion to let you know just how terrible you are for leaving me here alone. I almost never eat, drink, or use the litterbox while my slaves are out since I need someone to keep watch for me while I am busy with those things. I have a special double coat, which I do like to share with people and furniture, so if you don't want to be seen in the same outfit as me, please have your lint rollers ready. Because I receive once-daily brushings, I do not get hairballs like some other cats do. I have tons of toys I refuse to play with, but do thoroughly enjoy playing with an orange shoelace and love to chase the red laser dot for short periods of time. When I'm not feeling too lazy, I also like to jump on top of the kitchen cabinets, where I usually fall asleep. Speaking of sleep, I do snore and wheeze while asleep, since I have asthma, which the veterinarian says isn't bad enough to require treatment at this time. Therefore, I would not do well in a household with people who smoke indoors. I also prefer to use unscented litter in my litterbox, which I am a pro at using. I enjoy being pet and will even roll over for belly rubs, as long as I am the one initiating them, and prefer you sit on the floor with me to do so. I will climb up on the couch to sit with you when I feel like it and will be sure to take your spot the minute you get up. I will require a manicure and pedicure about every two weeks, which will be a 2-person job. I don't scratch, but will give you a warning swipe if you are annoying or hurting me in any way, such as when petting me in a spot I don't like. I also do not bite but will try to give you a nibble while grooming you if I think you taste particularly good. As far as my current slaves know, I have not lived with small children, so am not sure how I'd behave with them. I only met two of those alien creatures once and ran and hid under the bed.
