My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

1/30/19 - ADOPTION PENDING!
Adoption Fee: $400
Fostered in Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Age: 3 years
Weight: 3.9 lbs.

10/29/18 - Because of Bodie's fearful trust/biting issues, he will only be able to be adopted close to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, so visits can be established to help him adjust to new surroundings.

7/2/18 - Well, it's almost the 4th of July and we would like to introduce you the little firecracker of YHR currently. Bodie was surrendered by his previous parents, who had him as a puppy, because they travel alot and Bodie is not great with having to meet new people all the time. He thinks it is his job to protect. I know he is small, but he packs a punch and a bite. If his people are holding him, he doesn't like for someone to come up and pet or take him from them. He goes all Napoleon-like. Other than that, he is awesome. He is a sweet little guy who loves his people once he gets settled and isn't afraid. He has been at his foster home now for a little over a month and he is fine with the other dogs in the home, although he doesn't play with them, and he loves his foster mom and dad. It took him a little bit to get over the shock of moving to a new home with new people, but once he settled and knew he could trust, he hasn't stop being a happy boy playing with toys non-stop. He loves squeaky toys. It's like having a baby around the house when it's time for bed and you have to walk around picking up all the toys and putting them back in the baskets so it can start all over the next day.

Bodie has a high-pitched bark and isn't afraid to use it if someone comes over or he sees someone pass outside walking or riding a bike. Again.... protector. If someone comes to the house, all they have to do is ignore Bodie and after a little while, he will quit barking and not be focused on them anymore. He is tiny, so quick movements from new people scare him. Even with his bouts of fear, he is cocky. Big dog in a small body. He is loving and freely will give kisses and let you hold him.

Bodie cannot go to an apartment or condo that is connected to another home. He will also need a fenced in back yard because he loves to run around and chase the birds off making sure they do not get too close his home. He needs to go to an all adult home since children tend to raise the activity level in the home and the more active the environment, the more Bodie acts like a Rottweiler.

He uses the steps to get up an down off the bed and will sleep in the bed sometimes and then other times he retires to one of the dog beds. He likes to have his choices. He does well with his potty habits when brought out enough (tiny bladder), but will probably mark his territory at first. The belly bands worked great and he did not mind them at all.

So, if you are looking for a small dog with a big bark, bite and heart. A little tyke that doesn't like an active home with alot of visitors and owners that know his limitations and are ok and make the situation with meeting new people safe for him and the humans, please fill out an application.
