My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoption Donation:  $325.00

Hi Guys,

My name is Riley. I am a Maltipoo and I am one year old and only weigh 7lbs!  Here is what I like to do all day:  Wake foster mom up with kisses, then start waking my brothers up and basically just being a pain until I get some action going and the day started. ha ha. Now it is time to go outside and do my business and check out the squirrel situation in the back yard. I generally like to take my chew stick or stuffy toy out with me and then I leave it out there in the dew covered grass so mom has to come out and get it.

Once back inside, mom tries to lay back down under the blankets, but I have to remind her that it is play time. It is time for her to throw my ball or my stuffy down the hallway so I can draw from my ancestry (poodle side=duck retriever) and bring the ball back to her. This can go on for hours. Well, not hours; because I've not actually succeeded in persuading her to do it that long...but as many times as it's thrown, that's how many times I bring it back. Mom is teaching me to 'drop it' ,
because my old family would play rough with me and I like to growl and not let go. I also played too rough in chewing on mom's hand, but I am learning fast and I already am almost over that in one week.

I had a nice Maltese coat, but I got shaved and now I look naked. It will grow back though. Mom has this baby gate to keep us doggies out of the front room,ha ha. It keeps my Maltese brothers out, but I clear it with 4 or 5 inches to spare. It's so much fun and really good exercise to keep my skills up.

I use a pee pad for my business if I can't get outside, but my potty training has not been as issue since the first day or so with all the new smells. I'm just really smart, and I learned to 'Sit' and 'Come' and now we are working on 'down'. I'll do anything for food. I have the 'raccoon look' going because my eyes were tearing all the time and it stained my pretty white face. Mom has me on high quality grain free dog food now, and the tearing has stopped. She is putting some stuff on the brown part and it is lightening up.

I am affectionate and give sweet little kisses, so If you would like me to be your love bug and bring joy to your home, I am waiting for you in Dayton, Ohio.

Submit an application and come get me!   Love, Riley
